A career built on specialization
Dr. Sharon Batista is a triple board-certified psychiatrist specializing in OCD, anxiety disorders, and women's mental health. She founded Balanced Psychiatry of New York with a commitment to the kind of psychiatric care that is genuinely rare: unhurried, deeply informed, and built around what the patient actually needs.
Dr. Batista completed her undergraduate education at Harvard University, graduating cum laude with an A.B. She earned her medical degree at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where she subsequently served as chief resident in psychiatry — a role that reflects both clinical skill and the trust of her program. She completed her fellowship training at New York University.
She has been in private practice since 2010, and she continues to teach at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai as Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry. She is a member of the advisory board of NOCD, the world's largest OCD treatment platform, and a presenter at conferences of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) and the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA).
